Abstract:
The Open Science Grid has been relying on the Globus pre-WS GRAM (also known as GRAM2) Compute Element (CE) for most of its existence. GRAM2 is however not maintained any longer, so a replacement has to be found. As of January 2010, the two most promising products seemed to be the Globus GRAM5 and INFN CREAM. This document provides the result of the benchmark studies performed across the three CEs, as well as a general overview of their architectures.
