Abstract:
Cloud computing providers, such as Amazon, Rackspace, or Joyent have transparent billing schemes based on a few measurements, such as node type, hours used, storage space, and network traffic. This investigation aims to bring the OSG accounting up to parity with the cloud computing providers, to enable follow-on work in carefully measuring the cost of running a T2 site using EC2 pricing.
