The goal of the Open Science Grid (OSG1) is to take high throughput computing to the
next level while transforming data-intensive science through a cross-domain, self-
managed national distributed cyberinfrastructure. The OSG organization brings together
campuses and communities, facilitating the needs of Virtual Organizations at all scales.
The OSG consortium includes many universities, national laboratories, scientific
collaborations and software developers working together to meet these goals. This paper
discusses our teaching methodologies and engagement strategies for developing a
successful infrastructure for computational scientists and their multi-disciplinary research.
