Abstract:

We will describe the work being done by the Open Science Grid Operations Team to improve the accuracy, reliability, usefulness and interoperability of resource and service monitoring. The Resource and Service Validation Project (RSV) has been deployed with a combined goal of helping system administrators run standardized probes for early detection of problems related to grid services at their resources as well as providing this status information to the Grid Operations Center (GOC) for OSG-wide status monitoring and availability analysis. This work is also done as part of the OSG-EGEE interoperability effort so that OSG reliability and availability metrics can be combined with the SAM/Gridview information for monitoring the WLCG.
